At the beginning of last year, another city in Serbia joined Symphony's global community. In February 2020, we officially introduced ourselves to the city of Niš with an event that, according to our guests, has never been seen before in their city. However, just a month later, the world was hit hard by the global pandemic. That didn't stop us from building and expanding the Symphony community in Niš. Read on to find out what we've been up to, where we are today, and how we got here.
Focusing on work-life balance
First things first, here are some of the exciting facts about our development center in Niš! Despite the hub's opening only a month before the global pandemic, our community moved into its home in the ‘Beverli Hils’ neighborhood in Niš on the right bank of Boulevard Mediana. Secondly, our community in Niš consisted of only a few members a year ago, and today we are a substantial team that works with other Symphony engineers across the region on products and projects that matter. Lastly, and most importantly, we successfully brought the well-known Symphony culture, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and community strength we're known for to Niš despite working in a fully remote environment.
This experience boosted our team spirit and kept us motivated to strive for continuous learning and growth. Throughout the year, though, we didn't forget to have fun together, and we never lost focus on life-work balance. And what better way to encourage team spirit and unity than having a personalized beverage to honor our community and the wider Niš community - a reason more to gather around the table while celebrating shared successes.
