Let’s get Connected
Life at Symphony
Our amazing team continues to grow as we expand to new cities around the world, so if you would like to join us on our exciting journey we’d love to hear from you. At Symphony, you are given an opportunity to make a difference from day one. We provide a collaborative environment with support, mentoring and guidance throughout your career. We work together as a team both inside and outside of the office.
Our culture is a mix of our values and draws from all of our fantastic team members. We at Symphony aim to increase the standard of our lives, but not only in the professional sense. This is why, in addition to working on major projects, we travel, run, and cook healthy food in order to take care of our health, have fun and much more. We believe that an inspired life produces inspired work.
Here’s how we find out if you have what it takes to make it at Symphony
The selection process at Symphony is designed to ensure a two-way process wherein we get to know each other. We do not look at this process as purely a method to evaluate our potential colleagues but rather an opportunity to dedicate some time for both sides to get to know each other. This allows us to decide whether our mutual values systems, ambition, motivation, life standard and the way we look at the world around us align. If so, we can create incredible results together that can have a global impact.
Depending on the time that you have available as well as other factors that might influence this process, we will endeavor to make the selection process the least time consuming and as productive as possible. We believe strongly that you should get a sense of what it is like to work at Symphony and what to expect if you join us. This is why before any official steps (we are never too official :) we like to have a coffee or lunch together. This gives us a chance to fill you in on what you can expect during the selection process and for you to ask us about the things you would like to know before we get into detail.
You can talk to us about your technical background during this process of getting to know each other. We will want to hear about what you have been doing until now, what kind of projects you have worked on, which technologies you have been using, etc. When we speak about technology it is important for you to keep in mind that we are actually looking for great engineers, regardless of the technologies that you are familiar with. In the end, the concept is the same: a good engineer is a good engineer, regardless of what language he or she uses to write code – right! :)
We will speak about some technology specific aspects but we will pay more attention to the general principles of software development and best practice.
You will have the chance to talk to our engineers during this process and they will be happy to share more about our projects and practices. You are more than welcome to ask anything you want to know. We might even organize a project for you to work on in order to help us better understand your level of experience. This project will be adjusted to suit your background and preferences and you will be able to choose whether to build a web app, a mobile app or to work on an algorithm task or some other task related to the ML/AI area.
One of our talent managers will guide you through the entire process. He or she will be your main point of contact and can answer any questions that you might have. Besides the technical part of the process, you will spend some time with the talent manager. You will have two sessions dedicated to going through your experience from the non-technical perspective. This allows us to understand what drives you, what your strengths are and what the perfect team and environment would be for you. These sessions include several questionnaires and an interview. It is important to keep in mind that throughout this process we are trying to see how we can complement each other in order to make an impact together. Rather than looking for you weaknesses in order to eliminate you, we will focus on finding your strengths. It is very important to us that you want to be a part of our team. We want to achieve the best solution for you and for Symphony.
At the end of the process, we summarize our impressions and exchange and discuss our mutual feedback. We might conclude that currently we are not a fit, because certain circumstances might limit your ability to shine and to bring your strengths, skills and preferences to the fore. Yet this does not mean that our story has to end there, because we will always want to talk to you again. Circumstances change and therefore the next time we meet we might be a perfect match.
One more thing! Regardless of the outcome of this process, you are always welcome to come for a coffee or have lunch with us or to join us on one of our events. We find great energy in your visits and we would like to continue to nurture these new friendships!
You are always welcome at Symphony!
