Hi everyone!
We hope that all of you are doing more than amazing. We are back with some updates from our communities in Sarajevo, Belgrade and Novi Sad.
Newcomers
Our team is getting bigger! In the recent weeks, we have welcomed newcomers to all three Symphony hubs across the Balkans. Aleksandra joined our team in Novi Sad as Office Manager, while Nemanja, Milos and Milos (yes two of them) joined as Software Engineers. Mirela and Ivana joined our communities in Sarajevo and Belgrade respectively as QA Automation Engineers. Last but not the least, Milos (the third one) joined our Belgrade team as a Software Engineer. This past period has been really exciting for all of us at Symphony and we couldn’t be more happy as our community continues to grow each week. We cannot wait to create great memories with our newcomers in the future.
Anniversaries
Who doesn’t like to celebrate! Damir and Haris from our Sarajevo office celebrated their second Symphony anniversary, while Mirsad celebrated his fourth year as part of our community and Refik his first. Berina made some cookies for our Sarajevo team as she was celebrating her first Symphony anniversary this month. Ana from our Belgrade hub celebrated her second Symphony anniversary this month together with Milan, Nebojsa, Marija and Dragan who celebrated their first. But Dino deserves special mention as he celebrated his big ten years at Symphony - let’s all just say wow :)
Sarajevo Meet-up
In November, we organized our second meet-up in Sarajevo where we hosted members of the AWS User Group who spoke about AWS Serverless Architecture and Amazon Aurora, and local engineers. Dzenan and Adnan from the AWS User Group held two sessions in front of more than 50 attendees, afterwards they all enjoyed delicious food and drinks at our Sarajevo office.
Symphony Sessions
Ivan, who is our Country Director at Symphony Serbia, attended the AmCham SMART Trio on Excellence panel discussion held in November and he will be attending the HR Code CEO panel in December. Maja, our HR Manager at the Belgrade hub, was part of the panel discussion where participants spoke about the developmental path from Junior to Senior last month. Around 100 students turned up at this month’s session with Ivan hosted by the Faculty of Organizational Sciences in Belgrade. Ivan used this opportunity to share his business experience and impart invaluable tips and advice to the students.
Making a Difference
Marko Milenovic won two medals (one bronze and one gold) in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Hungarian Open. Congrats Marko, you’re a star! Another round of applause goes to our super runners Almina and Muamer who went to Istanbul last weekend. Muamer ran the whole marathon, while Almina finished the 15 km race. Nice work guys, we couldn’t be more proud!
Symphony team members from Belgrade, Sarajevo and Novi Sad went to the Bowling Arena in Belgrade last week and had a lot of fun that night. The big mystery that remains is who actually won? Stay tuned!
We recently celebrated our first official working day at the Symphony house in Novi Sad. Although it’s still under construction, we are very excited about the future accomplishments we will undoubtedly achieve in Novi Sad.
