Seven Questions With... Amer Gasevic

1. Share three things about yourself. Ready, set, go!

I love reading and learning about ancient civilizations.

Family guy, enjoying every minute spent with the family and friends.

Childish when appropriate, strong when needed and funny when possible.

2. What is the favorite part about working for Symphony?

People at the first place, and the fact that every problem has its solution, and that solution does not require arguing, tensions, and stress, but rather team contribution and reasonable arguments.

3. What are your biggest professional challenges?

Learning not only latest technologies related to my job, but also technologies related to other career paths in IT, and using combined knowledge to look at the problems from a different perspective to find the best solution.

4. In your opinion, what makes Symphony - Symphony?

I know you already heard this hundred of times but Symphony is all about people and company culture. The company makes people love what they do, and people move out of the pattern of being simply co-workers, to being more than friends. I like looking at Symphony like one big happy family that provides you all kind of funny gadgets and devices you can play around with, learn and enjoy.

5. If you could have a drink with anyone, (fictional, alive, dead, famous, non-famous) who would it be?

I think I will go with Leonardo da Vinci here, but my second choice would be Michael Jackson.

6. What is your hidden talent?

I play piano for almost 20 years.

7. Recommend us a movie to watch or a book to read.

I like books where you are confused all the way to the end, so any book from Dan Brown (The Lost Symbol maybe the best) is a good fit. Regarding movies, top suggestions would be The Prestige and The Shawshank Redemption.
